A few things about mantaumakers
The mantuamakers work for the milliner
Caps, cloaks, hoods, hats, muffs, ruffles, trims, and mantles for gowns
Bess O' Donell; young seamstress
Lived in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
Grandfather and father were weavers
Age of 14, worked as an apprentice to learn the skills needed to be a dressmaker
Had been an apprentice for 5 years
Began sowing at the age of 4
When time as an apprentice was over, Bess worked in one of the finest shops in Philadelphia!
Our mantuamaker shop is located off of the Duke of Gloucester Street
The simple machines that mantuamakers use are: levers, which are scissors, and a wedge, which is the needle
